About diabetes trainees 1 Diabetes trainees train in diabetes, endocrinology and general medicine and most are involved in the acute take.
About diabetes trainees 2 The national organisation of trainee diabetologists is the Young Diabetologists & Endocrinologists Forum (YDEF) and ABCD works closely with YDEF - a member of the YDEF committee sits on the ABCD committee.

Win a £1000 prize For the SpR meeting, abstracts of research and case presentations are invited and the best four will be selected for presentation. The ABCD SpR Training Award will be given to the best of these presentations. This prize of £1000 will go towards attendance at an international meeting.

NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowships Applications are invited for two NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowships (ACFs) based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation funding The Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation invites the submission of research projects and proposals requiring funding in the field of diabetes.
Jointly funded MRC NovoNordisk clinical research training fellowship One junior clinical research training fellowship will be awarded jointly by the MRC and the Novo Nordisk UK Research Foundation.
Novo Nordisk Uk Research Foundation awards The Novo Nordisk UK Research Foundation is a registered charity that supports research and education in diabetes and invites individuals or departments in the UK working within the field of diabetes to apply for the clinical research awards.
Diabetes Research Network The NIHR Diabetes Research Network is part of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network, and forms part of the UK Clinical Research Network. The Networks support and deliver high quality clinical research studies.

ABCD SpR Representative The ABCD SpR represenative, sitting on the ABCD committee, is Dr Emma Wilmot, Clinical Research Fellow, University Hospitals of Leicester.She is in her final year of specialist registrar training in the East Midlands deanery. Clinical interests include insulin pump therapy and antenatal care.
   
New Name for KBAs - Specialty Certificate Examinations The ‘Knowledge Based Assessments' (KBA) team has been working closely with medical Specialist Societies on examinations aimed at Physicians in specialist training.
