Find a document in a document library
- Do one of the following
- On the top link bar, click Documents, and on the
Document Libraries page,
click the document library you want.
- In the view bar, in
the Search Documents box, type the text you want to search for,
and click Go.
- If you want to narrow the search further, on the Search Documents page, type
more terms to search for in
the Search for documents containing text box, and click Go.
- In the Search Documents or Search
for documents containing text box,
you enter one or more words. The search returns files containing these
words, whether they are in the body of the file, in keywords, or in other
file properties. By entering more words, you make your search more
specific and limit the number of documents found.
- The search finds files containing various forms of the words you enter.
For example, searching for "swim" finds any documents containing
"swim," "swimming," or "swam."
Note
Word forms are used only if you are searching in
English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, or Swedish documents.
